The Red Letters

March 18 "I have set an example."
In John chapter 13 we read of one of Jesus’ greatest examples of servanthood: he washed the feet of his disciples – all of his disciples, even the one who would betray Him. What a powerful illustration for us of the heart of Christ. A heart that he wants us to have, even now, even for those who would be our enemies.

March 25 "Will you really lay down your life for me?"
Peter was one of Jesus’ chosen few; and he was not simply one of the disciples – he was one of Jesus’ inner circle, one of his closest friends and confidants. And yet Peter, when faced with persecution, turned his back on Jesus. What about us today? How do we react when faced with situations that test our faith? Will we deny Him? Even if you have failed, look to Peter: for through Christ’s love, he was given redemption – so can you!

April 1 (Palm Sunday) "Apart from me you can do nothing."
The words of Jesus in John chapter 15 give us a powerful metaphor for our life as a Christian: He is the vine, we are the branches. When we remain in Him, we will do great things through Him; apart from Him, we are powerless. It all boils down to our relationship with Jesus Christ – our Savior and Redeemer!

April 6 (Good Friday) "...for this I came into the world..."
Jesus Christ, the Son of God came into this world for one primary reason: to die on a cross for your sin – and to be raised again on the third day. It was His mission while on this earth. His entire life was a prelude to this climactic event. What about you? Can you say, with clarity, what your mission is? If not, then this message is for you – because without our mission from Him, we are without purpose!

April 8 (Easter Sunday) "Who is it you are looking for?"
Last week we talked about the mission of Jesus – in this message, we celebrate mission accomplished – the resurrection of our Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ! On that first Easter morning, Mary was looking for Jesus, fearing that his body had been stolen away. Jesus answers her – and she discovers the truth. That what He said would take place – did! He rose again – and He is alive today. He is risen. He is risen indeed!
