Series Title: "Disturbia"
Sunday November 11 - December 2, 2007

The Holidays are fast approaching and we watch as our ordinary little neighborhoods are transformed into winter wonderlands of light and color. If only the beautiful holiday exteriors were an honest reflection of the peace and harmony inside the walls they illuminate. Truth be told however, many times the decorations are merely a cover for the dysfunctional relationships that are housed inside. Gone are the Norman Rockwell depictions of serene community living. In its place is a little town known as Disturbia. A town with street names like Rage Ave, and Lovers Lane, where anger and lust meet for daily sidewalk chats. Main street has been replaced by “MY” Street. A town where all the stop signs seem to have been removed, leaving residents to drive aimlessly on ‘Anxiety Circle”. Join us for our upcoming 4 week series as we make our way thru the town of Disturbia. With God as our Navigational system, learn how to avoid wrong turns and bring peace back to your community and your home

November 11 "Rage Avenue"
Anger: Let’s face it, for many of us, the holidays can be a time of constant frustration and grinding of our wills to endure the next event. Meeting deadlines, party times, and the demands of the wish list are overwhelming. It is next to impossible for even the most timid of souls not to bubble over with some of that irritation turning to outright anger. This holiday season, we want to equip you with an understanding of just what’s at stake when we let our anger control us.

November 18 "Lover’s Lane"
Infidelity. What an ugly word. Nothing good comes from it; the results are always disastrous. And while betrayal is nothing new, and happens in all cultures and crosses socio-economic boundaries, there are some commonalities, especially in this area that we call home. What are they? What are the warning signs? What can we do to prevent ourselves from becoming a statistic? What do we do if it has already happened; is restoration possible. We will explore answers to all of these questions in part two of our “Disturbia” series.

November 25 "My Street"
Selfishness: Have you ever known anyone who actually lived by the motto, “What’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine?” This outward form of self-interest is easy to spot, but what of the more subtle ways that selfishness takes its place on the altar of our lives; especially now, as we approach what is arguably the most giving time of the year?

December 2 "Anxiety Circle"
Anxiousness is an emotion that is commonplace in the Fox Valley. We are anxious about our careers, our marriages, our children, our finances, etc. The list sometimes seems endless. Why? Why are we anxious? What is at the root of this issue that seems, at times, to be completely overwhelming? Is there an answer? Could it have something to do with something missing in my relationship with Christ? Don’t miss part four of our “Disturbia” series.
